How much do you know about the technological progress of diesel generator sets and diesel engines?

In modern society, most people must have already understood the Industrial Revolution at some stage of their education. These innovations include, most notably, diesel engines and generators. The diesel power pioneered by Rudolf Diesel seems to be constantly evolving, definitely faster than the innovation speed of a hundred years ago.
Perhaps the most significant modern advances in diesel engine technology have already and will continue to improve fuel economy. As usual, gas engines have been more widely adopted by the public. With the continuous switching of fuel economy, diesel is often largely overshadowed by traditional gasoline use. Nevertheless, diesel engines have found a solid user base in various forms of industry, especially those that require fuel economy for heavy load transportation, backup power, and major agricultural operations.
In the past few decades, countless attempts have been made and successful in improving the overall efficiency of diesel engines. Most of these modifications involve power ignition within the engine in some way, which is generated by the combination of oxygen and fuel. This mixture will ultimately generate the necessary energy to ignite the engine.
In contrast, gasoline engines use spark plugs to ignite this process. In diesel engines, there are no spark plugs or similar components. In fact, the ignition process is carried out directly because oxygen is allowed to enter the combustion chamber. During this process, oxygen is subsequently compressed and heated to a temperature exceeding 538 ℃. When fuel is injected into the combustion chamber through the pre chamber, the internal heat will instantly ignite the fuel, causing the air in the combustion chamber to expand and naturally move the piston inside. Then the momentum drives the crankshaft. A small amount of fuel will also be released in the pre chamber to keep the engine running. The more evenly these droplets are used, the higher the fuel economy and overall efficiency of the engine.
In recent years, advances in diesel generators and engines have begun to make progress in many different aspects. Whether it is preventive maintenance or reducing fuel emissions, we have definitely come a long way since the methods of steam turbines and industrial revolution. Although personal progress in digital control, fuel emission treatment, and engine modification is undoubtedly significant; It has been proven that compared to any individual development, all advances related to diesel engines and diesel generators have a greater impact on industry, collectively improving the use of diesel.
