Diagnosis and treatment methods for overheating caused by insufficient coolant in Sichuan Yuchai generator set
Classification:
The adequacy of coolant is closely related to the normal operation of Sichuan Yuchai diesel generator set. During operation, Yuchai diesel generator set is affected by its own fuel combustion, which can cause a sudden rise in unit temperature. High temperature environment not only affects the efficiency of Yuchai generator, but may even lead to unit failure.
Generally, under normal working conditions, the pressure at the inlet of the water pump of the unit is lower than that of other parts, and the boiling point of water decreases with the decrease of pressure. Therefore, when the water temperature is too high, the water at this location may boil and produce a large amount of steam, causing a sharp decrease in the pump water volume of the large pump. The decrease in pump water volume weakens the circulation intensity of the cooling system, reduces the heat dissipation performance, increases the water temperature, and consumes more water, resulting in a more insufficient amount of coolant. Generally speaking, the main reasons for insufficient coolant in Yuchai diesel generators are as follows:
1. Water pump leakage;
2. The blockage of the cylinder block or cylinder head is severely corroded and leaks water;
3. The radiator, water pipes, cylinder head, and cylinder block are broken;
4. The auxiliary water tank cover is damaged or not sealed.
How should users diagnose and handle different reasons? Here are some tips for you.
Firstly, check if there is any water leakage outside the diesel generator and cooling system, such as at the inlet and outlet pipe joints of the water pump and radiator. Secondly, observe whether the water pump drain hole is leaking. If there are water droplets or linear water flowing out, it indicates that the water seal of the water pump is damaged. When a leak is found in a certain part of the cooling system, it should be repaired.
2. Check if the coolant capacity is sufficient. If the coolant volume is insufficient due to evaporation, it should be added in a timely manner. If the coolant volume is insufficient due to other reasons, the leak should be identified, repaired, and then filled with coolant.
If there is no water leakage outside the cooling system and the coolant is consumed too quickly, it is necessary to check whether there is water leakage inside the diesel generator. The method is as follows:
1. When pulling out the oil dipstick, it was found that the oil was milky. The cylinder block should be checked for cracks.
Observe whether white mist is emitted from the oil inlet or crankcase ventilation pipe.
3. Use your hands to test the exhaust pipe to see if there are any water droplets and if the exhaust is steam, and smell the odor on your hands to determine if it is water or oil.
Through the latter two inspections, it can be determined that there is no water entering the cylinder. If there is water in the cylinder, it is generally caused by the cylinder gasket breaking, the cylinder head breaking, the cylinder head warping and deformation, or the copper sleeve of the fuel injector not being sealed. Repair measures should be taken according to the specific situation.
